Princeton RCMP are investigating a report filed by a woman who was frightened while walking her dog along the KVR through the tunnel.

The incident occurred Sunday Sept. 19 at about 6 p.m.

According to Sgt. Rob Hughes people need to be aware of the incident, but police have yet to reach a conclusion about what occurred, or if there was an intent to harm.

A 34-year-old woman entered the tunnel, with her dog, and was alarmed by a man walking towards her. She said ‘hello’ to the man, who did not respond.

She turned and fled and believed the man was chasing her, said Hughes.

She ran to a house where she sought help.

“At this time there is no offence, but we are investigating in an attempt to determine who the male was.”

Hughes commended the woman for responding proactively to the situation.

“Trust your instincts. If things don’t feel right, they may not be…You can only gain by taking the safe route.”
