Princeton will celebrate Halloween Saturday Oct. 30…when it’s dark.

Fireworks will take off from the Princeton airport, the same location as last year, according to Mayor Spencer Coyne.

“That way everyone in town can see them from where they live.”

The event is contingent on the compliance of the Kamloops Fire Centre’s danger rating assessment for the Merritt Fire Zone on Oct. 30, a site review by the Princeton Fire Department, and the attendance of those firefighting volunteers.

For many years Princeton has come together at Halloween for a party at the fairgrounds that included fireworks, spook houses, games, food, movies and an enormous bonfire.

Halloween Family Fun Night was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID, and public health restrictions have again prevented the annual gathering, which drew up to 2,000 visitors each year.
