NDP health critic confirms attendance at Princeton public forum

NDP health critic Mike Farnworth has confirmed he will be coming to a public forum on health care in Princeton this month.

NDP health critic Mike Farnworth has confirmed he will be coming to a public forum on health care in Princeton.

Save Our Hospital is holding a meeting on June 21 at the Riverside Centre at 7 p.m. to address the scheduled closures of Princeton Hospital emergency department, as well as to find long term solutions to attracting doctors to town.

Acting Mayor Jason Earle will also be speaking that night, along with Fraser-Nicola MLA Harry Lali, RDOS Area H director Brad Hope and Interior Health representative Andrew Neuner.

Premier Christy Clark has declined the invitation, but Save Our Hospital is asking for a representative from her government. Opposition leader Adrian Dix also said he will not be attending.

Save Our Hospital is still waiting to hear back from Health Minister Michael de Jong.
