Local groups receive grants

Municipality steps up with dollars for festivals, projects

Local groups will receive more than $63,000 in grants in aid from the Town of Princeton.

Council released a list of its 2016 grant recipients at a meeting Monday night.

The Princeton Museum benefits from the largest grant of $26,000, while the Princeton Posse Junior B Hockey Club gets $15,000.

Princeton Community Arts Council is granted $5,000, and the Princeton and District Fall Fair receives $4,500.

Other groups and events qualifying for grants are Halloween Family Fun Night ($3,000) Princeton Kokanee Swim Club ($2125), Princeton Rodeo Club ($2,000), Princeton Traditional Music Festival ($2,000) John Allison Community Garden ($2,000) Princeton Hospital Auxiliary ($1,000) and Princeton Youth Ambassadors ($500).
