Krafty Kitchen in Kelowna has announced it will be closing on Dec. 22, 2024.

Krafty Kitchen in Kelowna's downtown has announced its closing day is Dec. 22.

The 90-seat restaurant has served the community since 2014 both in-house and catering.

Reservations are limited for both the final dinner service on Dec. 21 and one last hip-hop brunch on Dec. 22.

The popular food establishment saw food by Chef Chris Shaften who was featured on Top Chef Canada in 2013.

“Top Chef got my name out there, enabling me to start preparing food for a more exclusive clientele,” he told Black Press Media in 2019.

It also helped in pitching the idea for his first restaurant, Krafty Kitchen + Bar, to investors. As a result of his instant name recognition and the reputation he achieved during Top Chef, investors were keen to put their money behind his talent.

Shaften then opened a second restaurant just two doors down from Krafty called Orchard Room with Chef Mike Wilkins leading the culinary team. The restaurant switched gears earlier in 2024 to focus on private events.
