UPDATE: 4:03 p.m.

Emergency crews are reporting several homes on Richter Street near Elliot Avenue are also being evacuated due to the flooding waters of Mill Creek.

Residents of a home on Ethel Street are being evacuated as Mill Creek has flooded into their residence.

Emergency crews are on scene and have helped to sandbag the area. More sand is needed and City of Kelowna crews have been notified.

Those living near Mill Creek on Ethel and Burne Avenue have been concerned about rising creek levels for several weeks.

Mill Creek is causing flooding issues throughout Kelowna, including in car dealership lots on Enterprise Way, businesses on Adams Road, a bridge on Lindahl Street and in the Ellison Area on Old Vernon Road.

A home on Bluman Road is apparently surrounded by water and emergency crews are looking to evacuate a resident from the house.

A gas line has been struck outside a residence on Richter Street, after the home owner tried to dig a trench to deal with flooding waters. FortisBC is on site.

Environment Canada is continuing a severe thunderstorm watch for the Central, South and North Okanagan. Strong winds, heavy rain and possible hail is expected.
