A referendum date has been set for the incorporation of Okanagan Falls.

The referendum on whether to incorporate as a village will take place on Saturday, March 22 and is the culmination of years of efforts.

“Some would say we’ve been waiting for this for 50 years, from 1974,” said Matt Taylor, director for Okanagan Falls.

Members of the regional district board have been calling for a referendum and staff have spent much time working on the process.

“The community appreciates that we’re going to have this sooner rather than later,” Taylor said.
