Fundraiser underway to help animal group

A fundraiser is happening until 6 p.m. Saturday at the Penticton Lakeside Resort with proceeds going to Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team (ALERT).

Money from the 16th annual Cookie Walk goes to help provide emergency services for domestic animals and livestock in the event of a disaster.

The Cookie Walk part of the event began at 10 a.m. and will continue until supplies run out. The sweets were baked by volunteers and friends of the organization.

Those attending are asked to bring their own container to fill up with the wide variety of really goods

Also available will be items such as giftware, jewellery and more.

Kind Lady Lives Here, a Penticton non-profit group is on site hosting its annual bazaar in support of Oliver’s Animal Legacy Foundation.
