Getting around the region is proving challenging for motorists Friday morning.
As of 5:30 a.m., Highway 1 is closed 28 kilometres west of Salmon Arm in both directions because of a vehicle accident. No detour is available and there is no estimated time of the route reopening.
Highway 1 is also closed in both directions 10 kilometres east of the Rogers Pass summit because of a vehicle accident. No detour is available and there is no estimated time of the route reopening.
Highway 1 is also closed in both directions west of Cache Creek because of rock slides. There is a detour via Highway 1 east and Highway 5.
Highway 8 remains closed in both directions 12 km east of Spences Bridge because of a mud slide. No detour is available and there's estimated time of opening due to slope/erosion activity.
