The annual Youth Ambassador Fashion Show was held at Princeton Secondary School on Thursday, May 1.
The show is a yearly fundraiser that not only helps to support the Princeton Ambassador Program, it helps to showcase clothing, jewellery and accessories from local stores. It is also an evening that the youth enjoy and have a great deal of fun with their presentations.
This year, the candidates had a little extra help from youth models: Taelah Thomas, Aivry Thomas, Kabrie Hartwell and Sylvie Thomas; Brownie Buddies: Hannah Zirk, Shaelin Tomusiak, Mya Robbins, Kabrie Hartwell and Aivry Thomas; reigning Youth Ambassadors, Destiny Earle, Carmen Brodie and Friendship Ambassador, Morgan Whelpton.
Princeton’s own B.C. Ambassador Candidate for 2014, Megan Pateman helped to organize the entire evening as she is working with the Ambassador Program as assistant coordinator.
Ambassador Coordinator, Lori Thomas emceed the evening and began by introducing this years candidates: Alex Burke, sponsored by the Princeton Lions Club; Zach Jwaszko, sponsored by the Princeton Rotary Club; Owen Bartlett, sponsored by Copper Mountain Mine and Kassidy McCutcheon, sponsored by Princeton Weyerhaeuser.
The candidates and their helper models then walked the runway showcasing fashions from; Fields, the Thrifty Boutique Shop, Work N’ Play, Auto Tac Signs and Embroidery, the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store, the Winking Pedlar, Princeton Golf Club Pro Shop, Nicki’s Tie Dyes, Shoppers Drug Mart and Suzie’s Shoppe.
The candidates also modeled their formal attire and with their helpers presented the International wear each had chosen for the evening.
Canada, Greece, Mexico, India, Japan, Italy, Hungary, Paris and Scotland were some of the international fashions showcased.
Attendees to the fashion show had the opportunity to win intermission prizes donated by; Sweet Sensations, Fields, Chamber of Commerce and the Winking Pedlar.
The Ambassadors, candidates and coordinators extend their thanks to PSS for the use of the gym, the helper models, Brownie Buddies, the clothing and accessory providers, donators, Tammy Dunstall, Corrie Smith and to all who attended the show.
A special thank you is extended as well to the judges; Gail Madill, Donna Wilson and Sandi Lawlor.
