BC Wildfire responding to spot-sized blaze west of Adams Lake in the Shuswap

Lightning suspected cause of ignition

The BC Wildfire service is responding to a spot-sized blaze near Adams Lake.

On Wednesday morning, June 7, four firefighting personnel were working on the Cahilty Main Forest Service Road fire located west of the southern end of Adams Lake. The fire, discovered at 4:35 p.m. on June 6, was less than .o1 hectare in size and classified as out of control. Lightning was the suspected cause of ignition.

A campfire ban goes into effect in the Kamloops Fire Centre, which includes the Shuswap, on Thursday, June 8. Category 2 and 3 bans are already in effect.
