Emil Anderson Maintenance is warning drivers to expect traffic delays in Hope on Monday, April 1, near the Highway 3 and Highway 5 split.
“The information we have about this event is thin and vague, but we are anticipating impacts along the Highway 1, Highway 3, and Highway 5 corridor in Hope, starting in the morning around 9 a.m.,” the release on Facebook states.
“It is unclear where exactly the potential impacts on traffic will materialize, and how long disruptions will last.”
Emil Anderson Maintenance says they want to give the public ample warning, minimize inconveniences and make travelling smoother. They also recommended drivers to plan alternate routes or leave earlier.
“We are in regular dialogue with the RCMP and will be working closely with them to minimize any inconvenience,” the statement continues. “We trust that any public gatherings will be carried out peacefully, as is usually the case.”
It is believed a planned protest in relation to the carbon tax increase that comes into affect on Monday will impact traffic in the area.
