A few more residents have thrown their names into the political ring in the Lower Similkameen.

Incumbent George Bush for Area B has officially filed his nominations papers.

Bush, who’s lived in the Similkameen Valley almost all his life has farmed, worked for the school district and volunteered at many organizations in the community. If successful this will be his second term as the director for Area B.

Also filing nomination papers, is longtime village councillor Jeremy Evans.

Evans has served on council for almost two decades.

At this point no one has filed nomination papers for Area G representing Olalla, rural Keremeos and Hedley.

So far, there is a two-person race for mayor in Keremeos with incumbent mayor Manfred Bauer and multi-term councillor Arlene Arlow running for the top spot.

Also having filed councillor nomination papers are incumbents Sherry Philpott-Adhikary and Jason Wiebe.

Residents have until September 14 to file nomination papers.
