There is officially a race for Mayor in Keremeos.

Incumbent mayor Manfred Bauer filed his nomination papers on Tueday, the first day of the nomination period.

Vying to unseat Bauer for the top spot on council will be Arlene Arlow, a current councillor for the Village of Keremeos.

Incumbent councillors Sherry Philpott-Adhikary and Jason Wiebe both filed their councillor nomination papers on Sept. 5.

The Village of Keremeos has four councillor positions.

Current councillor Jeremy Evans told the Review earlier this year he planned to run again for his council position, but has yet to file nomination papers.

The nomination period runs from September 4 to 14 and candidates have a week to withdraw their nomination.

The campaign period runs from Sept. 22 to Oct. 20 with general voting day to be held Oct. 20.
