The Princeton Volunteer Fire Department and Area H will soon have two new vehicles to aid in future wildfire protection services.
Princeton council approved a staff recommendation to accept the provision of two vehicles from the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen during a Nov. 6 council meeting.
The fire department says it was called on by the BC Wildfire Service on several occasions this past summer to assist with wildfire protection efforts.
The vehicles include a 2022 Ford F-550 4x4 truck at the cost of $18,200 plus applicable taxes and a 2020 Ford Super Duty F-550 DR for the cost of $63,599 plus applicable taxes.
The money for both vehicles will come from a Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen capital grant, which will cover these costs in full.
