Penticton RCMP arrest man who barricaded himself inside residence

The man was arrested without incident

A man was arrested after barricading himself in a residence on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Penticton RCMP, with help from the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (SED ERT) arrested a man who barricaded himself in a home on Wednesday night (Nov. 6).

The man, who was known to police and has outstanding warrants was inside a home in the 1000 block of Government Street.

SED ERT was called in to assist the situation because of high-risks posed by the individual.

"After attempts were made to have the suspect exit were unsuccessful, SED ERT utilized various tactics to safely arrest him," stated a Penticton RCMP release.

The man was arrested without incident. He remains in custody waiting for a court appearance. 

There is no risk for public safety and an investigation is ongoing. RCMP won't be releasing any other details.
