Celebration of traditions at Riverside

The Princeton Arts Council and the Upper Similkameen Indian Band are proud to announce The Upper Similkameen Spirit Festival’s Celebration of First Nations and Mini Pow Wow on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Riverside Centre in Princeton, BC. This full day family event runs 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Princeton Arts Council and the Upper Similkameen Indian Band are proud to announce The Upper Similkameen Spirit Festival’s Celebration of First Nations and Mini Pow Wow on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Riverside Centre in Princeton, BC. This full day family event runs 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will feature traditional Pow Wow dancing, drumming, singing and storytelling performances, Audio Visual and documentary presentations, a crafts bazaar, archaeological artifact displays, real tule-mat teepees, food concession and free door prize draws.

This free community event welcomes and celebrates the traditions of the First Nation people of the Similkameen.

Funding for the Upper Similkameen Spirit Festival is provided by the Princeton Arts Council who was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Province of British Columbia in November of 2010 through the BC Spirit Festival Arts Legacy program, with the assistance of the RDOS.
