The South Okanagan Seniors Wellness Society is planning its 20th annual Seniors Symposium. The trade show is the single largest seniors’ event in North America.
This event attracts over 5000 participants to the trade show each year. Exhibitors showcase their newest products and services. Booth space is still available with earlybird pricing available until June 3rd.
The Seniors Symposium will be held on Wednesday October 19th from 9:00am to 4:00pm at the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre. And once again, Interior Health is planning to kick off their 2011 seasonal flu immunization at the Seniors Symposium again this year.
The theme is “Volunteering & Healthy Aging”. The Seniors Symposium aims to demonstrate the benefits of volunteering -- a healthier and happier quality of life. Volunteering can generate a heightened sense of self-esteem and confidence, reduce heart rates and blood pressure, and increase endorphin production. This helps volunteers have a greater feeling of well-being and calm, boosts immune and nervous system functioning, reduces stress, and helps to overcome social isolation.
