Anyone with plans of getting off Vancouver Island Monday could be in for a long wait unless they planned ahead.

BC Ferries reports the 9, 10 and 11 a.m. sailings out of Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen are full, while the noon and 4 p.m. sailings are cancelled due to mechanical issues with the Queen of New Westminster. The 1 and 2 p.m. sailings are also full. There was 32 per cent space available on the 3 p.m. ferry at 9 a.m.

Passengers heading to Vancouver Island are in better luck. While mechanical issues have resulted in the cancellation of the 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. sailings out of Tsawwassen, other sailings are reporting there's still room available.

The 9:05 a.m. and 11:25 a.m. sailings out of Departure Bay for Horseshoe Bay were also full, with space available on the 1:40 p.m. sailing.
