Aug. 18 —Uncork the Sun at Oliver Community Park from 6 to 10 p.m. featuring live music from Jack and Jill. Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for students and kids under 8 are free.

Aug. 18 to 20 — Ponderosa Arts and Music Festival in Rock Creek featuring headliners Five Alarm Funk, Wolf Parade, Austra,Bear Mountain, helicopter tours, river floating and more. Visit www.ponderosafestival.com for more.

Aug. 18 to 20 — Traditional Music Festival in Princeton. Jams. Concerts, fiddle tunes, sea shanties, Morris dancing, accordionmusic, traditional ballads, Balkan Roma Music, Contra dancing and more. Aug. 19 — B.C. Pinot Noir Celebration brings together 34 of the province’s best Pinot Noir producers to celebrate the varietalat Linden Gardens in Kaleden. Tastings, keynote speaker, live music and a cocktail-style dinner from Canada’s top chefs. Formore information visit www.bcpinotnoir.ca

Aug. 19 — The Great Ogopogo Bathtub Race is a fundraiser for the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation. Alongwith a competitive bathtub races at Powell Beach in Summerland, there is a breakfast in the park, barbecue lunch, kid’sactivities, family sandsculpting and live music. Event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Aug. 19 — Oliver Roots & Fruits Expo, a celebration of Oliver’s agriculture heritage takes place at the community park and hallfrom 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Downtown parade starts at 10:30 a.m. Live entertainment featuring Chris Buck Band, Mysterious SonicBooms, Rebel Luv, children’s sing-a-long, Nice Verdes, Pico’s Puppet Place and Oliver’s Got Talent Show. As well there will bea multicultural food village, agriculture and heritage exhibits, barrel train rides, kid activities, pie eating contest, pie bakingcontest and strangest vegetable contest. Admission is free.

Aug 19 — Opening of Agape Art “Essence of the Okanagan” at the Front Street Gallery from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Show runs untilAug. 31.

Aug. 23 — ITU World Multisport Championships Red and White party takes place from 8 to 11 p.m. in Gyro Park . Local dancers, musicians. Licensed event.

Aug. 25 — Street/beach party on Lakeshore in front of the SS Sicamous to celebrate the ITU World Multisport Championships. Local bands and dance troupes performing from 8 to 11 p.m.
