Keremeos' annual Light Up celebration returns for two days of holiday fun, complete with the always popular parade down Main Street.

Things kick off on Friday, Dec. 6 with the craft fair at Victory Hall starting at 3 p.m. ahead of the parade.

At 6 p.m., the parade will depart from next to Buy-Low Foods and make its way down the Main Street of Highway 3, before looping around via 7th Avenue.

This year's parade is all about the Enchanted Forest, and the various parade entries are encouraged to celebrate the theme.

Any businesses or groups that want to participate in the parade, either travelling along or by setting up a treat stand somewhere on the route, are invited to email admin@similkameencountry.org to register.

After the parade wraps up, Santa will head over to Victory Hall for the rest of the craft fair for photos.

The fair resumes on Dec. 7 at 10 a.m., with Santa arriving for more photos between 11 a.m. and noon.

Also on Saturday, enjoy plenty of free activities and live music at the Similkameen Rec Centre from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

There will also be a food truck set up outside.

Head over to the rec centre at 4 p.m. and there will be free hot chocolate and cooks with the ribbon cutting for new EV chargers.

Local businesses are also invited to decorate their storefronts to match the theme and enter into the competition for the FortisBC Decoration Award.
