Swing dance event coming to Summerland Community Centre

Event is fundraiser for Summerland Fall Fair and Ryga Arts Festival

Swing dance will be celebrated on Sept. 13 at the Summerland Community Centre.

The event coincides with the Summerland Fall Fair and Ryga Arts Festival.

A swing dance lesson will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., led by dance instructor Natalie Hobbs. Then, from 7 to 9 p.m., the South Okanagan Big Band will take the stage. The band has performed at Peach Fest and will perform at the Pentastic Jazz Festival in Penticton from Sept. 6 to 8.

Sponsors Heritage Cider and Detonate Brewing will provide beverages, and there will be food from local food producers.

The event is a fundraiser for the fall fair and the arts festival.

Tickets for the dance lesson and concert are $15 each and are available at the door, online at rygafest.ca or through Sass Boutique.

The Summerland Community Centre is located at 9710 Brown St.
