The 46 Annual Princeton and District Agricultural Fall Fair has a weekend stock full of fun planned for all ages.

Saturday, September 3 and Sunday September 4 begin with a pancake breakfast at 9:00 a.m., courtesy of the Christian Riders, followed by many displays, demonstrations, vendors, concession, refreshment garden and entertainment galore equaling two whole days full of incredible family fun.

The fair board has worked hard this year to bring in and plan events that all ages will appreciate. Bingo, horse racing, shopping opportunities, demonstrations, musicians, and plenty of hands on activities to participate in.

Earlier this year, young director, Miss Destiny Earle took it upon herself to survey her peers to find out what they would like to see involved at the fair. Lazer Tag took the top spot in the requests, resulting in the attendance of Fun Zone Rentals out of Kamloops being present at this year’s fair. The Fun Zone will be operating Lazer Tag on both Saturday and Sunday, as well as a bounce/slide inflatable for kids aged two to 10 (has a climbing wall inside) and a horizontal bungee run for ages seven and up. There will be numerous games and activities for the kids including a chance to be creative with Shirley Freding of Shirley’s Arts & Crafts in the Junior Fair building.

On Saturday, the fair is hosting thoroughbred horse racing care of Princeton Racing Days. Post time is 1:00 p.m., there will be pari-mutuels, a 50/50 draw and a chance to win $200 with your program ticket.

Saturday evening’s dance and entertainment will be provided by local stars, “Frame 313.” Gear up your dancing shoes, the fun lasts until 10:00 p.m.

On Sunday, the fair will be hosting the 6th Annual Keith Robinson and George Merrill Memorial Horseshoe Tournament at 10:00 a.m., followed by a feature presentation by the Marron Valley Drill Team and Cattle Penning Competition.

Sunday will also feature Cowboy Church, the children’s bike parade,  pet parade and the day ends with the yearly auction held at 3:00 p.m.

Don’t forget to enter this years Scarecrow contest for a chance to win $100. Entries must be at the fair grounds by 5:00 p.m., on Friday.

Registration for both the adult and children’s exhibitor entries takes place on Thursday, September 1 from  4:00 to 7:00 p.m., and on Friday, September 2 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Exhibitor booklets are available at Everything Pets, the Similkameen Spotlight  office and at various other locations throughout the community.

Admission to the fair is free for children aged 12 and under,  and is $5.00 for all others.

Good luck with your entries this year and see you at the fair.
