Watching the news is a given for many people. It is educational and informative, keeping residents current on events locally, provincially and on a global scale. Did you realize however, that the news could be inspiring as well?

A fundraising dinner launched off a generous donation for the Princeton General Hospital and Ridgewood Lodge. Princeton’s Fish and Game Association held a dinner and silent auction at the Legion and used half of the evenings proceeds to help out the community.

Saturday morning the skies were alive with old and new planes. It was the day of the fourth annual Princeton Air Show and a day many who attended will remember for more than a little while.

The power of an idea can motivate. It can unite and it can become a force all of its own. Such was an idea that was brainstormed into more at the house of Shirley and Wah Fee Low one evening several years ago.

Bridge Street was lined up, for most of its length, with cars and trucks from days gone by. Modified trucks and antique cars sat side by side along the road waiting for everyone who was interested to take a look. A&W had banded with the new Cooper’s Foods Store under A&W proprietor Otto Coers and Cooper’s Foods employee Ellen “Mac” MacDonald to pull off their eleventh annual Show n’ Shine Car Show.

One hundred years from its founding, this past Saturday in Coalmont, was quite an event.

It is impossible to reach age 95 without a few poignant memories and a few good stories to tell. Such is the life of Jessie Short. Jessie lives now in Ridgewood Lodge, but she did not always live there and before coming to Princeton, Short saw and did some pretty interesting things along the way
