Summerland residents enjoyed a celebration of holiday lights on Friday evening during a driving tour of the community.
The Summerland Drive-By Light Up was organized by Paul Biro as a way to bring the holiday spirit to Summerland.
Normally, the last Friday of November would be the annual Summerland Festival of Lights, but as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was cancelled for this year.

“Light-up is a wonderful event for us. So many people were so disappointed when it was cancelled,” he said. “It’s been a very hard year for Summerland.”
Biro created a map of Summerland, showing his favourite holiday lights displays.
The route began at Biro’s home and took motorists through various parts of the community.
Biro said he had received around 300 emails from people who appreciated the effort.
“They were so excited and so blessed by it. It was worth doing.”
For those who want to take the tour on their own, a copy of the map is at the bottom of this story.
