The Summerland Museum is holding a membership drive throughout the month of March.

“We are encouraging people to renew their memberships, spread the word to others about acquiring a new membership, and volunteer their time to become actively involved in the organization,” said Pat McCutcheon, membership coordinator for the museum.

The museum has senior memberships for those 61 and older, student memberships, adult memberships, corporate memberships and life memberships. Senior and student memberships are $15 a year, adult memberships are $25 a year, corporate memberships are $100 a year and life memberships are $100 and do not expire.

An application form is available at the museum, 9521 Wharton Street and online at the museum’s website at summerlandmuseum.org. Memberships can be dropped off in person or mailed to Box 1491 Summerland, B.C. V0H 1Z0.

The Summerland Museum offers many services and programs to the public. Staff are working to preserve the history of Summerland and are developing programs to encourage all ages to participate in the museum experience. Those who have queries are asked to contact the museum at 250-494-9395 and speak to one of the staff members.

This is not the first museum membership drive in recent years. In 2021, the museum held two month-long membership drives, in March and in September.

In addition, the museum held an auction earlier this year to deaccession certain items from its collection.
