Summerland hosts Crokinole Championship

The 2019 Crokinole Championship was held in Summerland for the first time at the end of April.

This was the 10th year of the event and this year 40 people came out to participate. People travelled to this event from as far as Ontario, Washington State, Fernie and the local area from Kamloops to Oliver.

In the Competitive League, Summerland residents Jordan and Ed Ripley placed fourth and Michael Hughes another Summerland resident, took second place with his partner Alec Taciuk.

In the Recreation League, Irene Batulan and Renato Domingo took fourth place.

“We look forward to growing this event in Summerland next year, approximately in April, so we can attract new players to our wonderful town,” said Lara Hughes, the main organizer of the tournament.
