A local pet owner is hoping to hear some good news soon after her dog Cuddles slipped through an open gate on Jan. 23.

“We’re hoping that some old lady found her and took her in,” said Alecia Erb. “That someone has her right now and she’s inside.”

The last time Cuddles was seen was at around 8 p.m. on Jan. 23, when Erb’s husband went out to work on the car.

“It was dark out, he went left and she must have gone right,” said Erb. “It took us a couple of minutes to notice, and by then she was gone.”

Cuddles is described as being an energetic dog, despite her age, but not one to take walks and likely unfamiliar with the area outside her home on 8th Street.

“She went to the house across the highway, but when they tried to get her she went back across the highway to the house at the top of 8th,” said Erb.

Since Cuddles went missing, she was spotted on the 24 and 25 in the area near her home, however, there has not been any sighting since.

Cuddles is a small black Shih Tzu, with white paws and a white streak on the chest.
