The “Friends of Osprey Lake” held their 4 annual road clean up on Sunday May 15, 2011.

The 4th annual Osprey Lake Clean-up was another success

This was a little later than previous years because of the long winter and an abundance of snow that still wants to hang around.  The snow has mostly melted but there is a huge flow of water everywhere in this area but we were able to clean over 35 km of roadways including the Princeton – Summerland road from Kathleen Bridge to Shinish Road including side roads and the Kettle Valley Railbed (TCT) in our area.

Some of the interesting articles were a couple of logging truck tires that were abandoned over the winter, lots of Styrofoam (take out doggy plates) and numerous coffee cups from the town of Princeton and other cities.

The good news is that the garbage is less than in previous years and that is a good sign.

We would like to thank the Town of Princeton for waiving the landfill fees and to all the volunteers who made this event a success.
