It’s coming, it’s coming. No it isn’t a train, but rather that latest addition to the ever-changing community of Princeton. A sneak peak of the new museum is all there is until July 1, 2011 when the official opening takes place.
“People are not going to believe what we have accomplished with our limited funds,” stated Museum president Bob Wicks. “Princeton is going to have a small scale world class facility that the community can be really proud of. It is really exciting.”
The museum work crew has refurbished some of the old display cases that were slated for the landfill into show pieces themselves with a little creativity and some true craftsmanship. There will be glowing rocks, an Aboriginal display, a church area, and much more, including, of course, the much admired Pollard fossil collection. Workers have been busy and the wait will be worth it.
“This project has been a real labour of love,” said Wicks “and it shows in the details.”
The museum still has big plans ahead. It is swarming with activity inside. Set decorators and construction workers have united for some big changes. “We plan to have a rotational community display in here when we are done,” stated Wicks. “We will be encouraging all the clubs and the schools to take turns participating in that. We want to achieve a first class museum.” The truth will be revealed July 1, 2011.
