Aquatic centre referendum committee hard at work

Committee preparing for open house meetings with the public.

The Princeton and District Aquatic Centre Referendum Committee has been hard at work preparing a referendum communication strategy. The committee is made up of community members that represent a broad cross section of citizens from both the Town and the RDOS Area H. Working from the feasibility study that was completed in 2009, the committee has spent much time and effort reviewing the details of the preferred pool concept as identified by the citizens of Princeton and Area H. They are now working with the Architect and Consultant to gather updated information and are preparing to engage the public. Through a variety of strategies, the committee is confident that they will meet their goal; “To provide information that supports informed decision making for an aquatic centre referendum to be held on September 24, 2011 and to encourage community involvement and participation at public information meetings”. In the next few months, the committee with host at least 2 public open houses to discuss the facility and referendum. In Addition, they will prepare, publish and distribute information that supports an informed decision making procedure.
