HARE, WILLIAM FREDERICK

April 18, 1915 - March 26, 2011


It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bill on March 26, 2011 after a long and happy life.

Bill was born at Henley-on-Thames, England. He joined the Royal Air Force at the beginning of World War II. After serving in England and Africa he was transferred to Ottawa in 1942. In 1944, Bill married Lois Snow and they shared their life together until Lois passed away in Nov. 2007. Bill was with the RCMP for 26 years with postings in Princeton, Keremeos, Dawson Creek, Fruitvale, North Vancouver and Nelson, BC. In Dawson Creek, Bill and Lois found their love of square dancing and spent many years enjoying the friendship of the clubs they danced with. In 1984, Bill and Lois retired to Keremeos where they were active with the Keremeos Ecumenical Parish, The Seniors Centre and square dancing with the Penticton Peach City Promenaders.

Bill will forever be loved and remembered by his son Victor, daughter-in-law, Joyce and granddaughters; Laurel and Shannon (Andrew) Hare. His daughter, Patricia Lewis and his grandsons; Brad (Lauren) and Scott Lewis. Also his great grandsons; Preston Lewis and Oliver Lewis.

A Funeral Service will be held on April 9, 2011

at 1:00 pm from the Keremeos Ecumenical Parish, 607-5th Street, Keremeos, BC

followed by a Celebration of Life at the

Keremeos Seniors’ Centre, Br#65, 421-7th Avenue. Condolences may be sent to the family through providencefuneralhomes.com.
