Hargrove, Elmer Eugene

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elmer Hargrove on December 5, 2010 at the age of 69 years. After a long, hard battle with cancer, he is now finally resting peacefully.

Elmer was born at home on the farm in Hodgeville, SK on February 6, 1941, to Alf and Ann Hargrove. Along with his brothers Earl and Donald, and sisters Ruby and Grace, the family packed up and moved to Princeton in 1948 where Elmer resided until his passing. He raised his family and spent his working years driving gravel trucks, logging trucks, working at Craigmont Mines as well as various sawmills. When he wasn’t working, Elmer was known to be the #1 patron at the Princeton Hotel, where he could always be found up at the bar with a glass of beer telling stories with his buddies.

Elmer was predeceased by his father Alf in 1965 and his sister Ruby in 1987. He will be forever loved and fondly remembered by his mom Ann Hargrove, brothers Earl Hargrove and Donald (Donna) Hargrove, sister Grace (Ed) Brock, his children Shannon and Elmer Hargrove, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. His great nephew and NASCAR buddy Tyler will always hold a very special place in his heart for his “Uncle Elmo”.

Cremation. As per Elmer’s request, there will be no public service. A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date when his ashes will be buried beside his father in the family plot at Princeton Cemetery.

“Rest in peace Uncle Elmer....we will never forget you”
