Reckless hunters are creating a problem for residents and the RCMP.

“We are getting a few files of hunters shooting closer to city limits or in unsafe areas,” said Corporal Chad Parsons.

“We had a shooter, a hunter shooting on Coalmont Road, and on China Creek Road which is still inside the city limits. There are houses around and it’s very dangerous.”

Parsons said someone else reported “a hunter shooting a deer near Princeton Wood Preservers and there were workers outside. It could be a safety issue for those people.”

Parsons urged hunters to enjoy the season responsibly.

“If you are hunting you need to know where you are and what’s around you and anything in the backdrop.”
