Black Press Files Littering the landscape with old vehicles is an increasing problem in BC.

Princeton RCMP are getting fed up with drivers just leaving their vehicles around the little village of Hedley.

“We have received, from several concerned citizens, reports that derelict vehicles are just being parked by the side of the road, which is making the town unsightly,” said Sergeant Barry Kennedy.

Notices will be issued to vehicle owners who have abandoned their cars and trucks, and they will be towed at the owners’ expense, he said.

“There’s a growing trend of people dumping their vehicles when they are done with them. If you are done with your vehicle and you just can’t afford it anymore you can’t just park it at the side of the road.”
