A delegation of Princeton RCMP members will attend the funeral of slain Abbotsford Police Constable John Davidson, according to Sergeant Barry Kennedy.
The funeral will be held Sunday, November 19.
“There will be a contingent coming from this area…It will depend on what the schedule is.”
Kennedy has attended at least two police funerals and described them as very emotional events.
“It shows support, when everyone gets together,” he said.
“The Abbotsford [killing] hits close to home because it’s near here and that could be anybody…Everyday the police do exactly what [Davidson] did. There’s a stolen car and you try to stop it. That happens quite a bit even in the Princeton area. Sometimes these things end without incident and sometimes these things don’t end very well.”
