Update: More details released regarding homicide

RCMP in Penticton are investigating the death of a man on Woodlands Drive

UPDATE: Police now say a 63-year-old man was the victim of an apparent homicide in connection with an incident at a Woodlands Drive residence Monday.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth said Tuesday, police in consulation with Crown counsel, decided to release a woman who had been taken into custody without “process” and it was determined that public safety was not an issue in this matter

“It was an isolated incident and the man and woman were known to each other and had been in a relationship,” said Wrigglesworth.

The investigation is continuing.

Police are currently investigating a homicide in Penticton.

Officers were called to a residence on Woodlands Drive just before 5 a.m., Monday, where they discovered a deceased man.

According to Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth the man is an apparent victim of a homicide.

One person has been arrested and is in custody.

The Serious Crime Unit and Forensic ID Section have been called in to help with the investigation.

No further information will be available until the victim has been identified and a next of kin notification given.
