Penticton RCMP officers had their hands full with an unruly group of teens at 1a.m. on Aug. 13 at Lakeshore Drive and Winnipeg Street.

According to Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth a 16-year-old girl kicked a police officer in the head as they were trying to arrest a 17-year-old male. Numerous youths then “swarmed” the officers.

Police did prevail and arrested the male and female who was found to have bear spray in her possession, contrary to her probation order.

She was eventually charged with assaulting two police officers, obstruction of justice, causing a disturbance, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.

The male was charged with causing a disturbance and resisting arrest.
