Loaded shotgun found in vehicle during Okanagan Falls traffic stop

An RCMP traffic stop has resulted in an Okanagan Falls man being arrested on a number of weapons charges.

Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said a Targeted Enforcement Unit pulled over a vehicle on Jan. 17 on Main Street in Okanagan Falls and found a loaded, sawed-off, double barrel shotgun in the vehicle.

As a result, Samuel Prescott-Perreault, 30, is facing a number of weapons related offences and was scheduled to appear in court in Penticton today.

“Police find this incident alarming as it is the second time in a week they have located a loaded firearm in a vehicle,” said Moskaluk in a news release.
