At least two downtown businesses sustained damage Tuesday afternoon following the partial collapse of a wall.

According to town infrastructure director Michael Mazurek heavy snow may have been the cause of the collapse at the Auto Tac building at 259 Vermilion Avenue.

Mazurek investigated the scene shortly after the collapse occurred.

He said it appeared that snow on the roof of the building – which is owned by Princeton town councillor Kim Maynard – appeared to have pulled part of the wall away and the “heavy mass” fell on the patio roof of Cowboy Coffee in the adjacent lot, destroying the patio.

He said no one was injured in the incident.

The Spotlight was not able to reach the owners of either building as the paper went to press.
