Crews respond to structure fire on Allison Flats

Three fire trucks, RCMP and BC Ambulance are on the scene of a structure fire on Luard Avenue. (2:30 pm Monday August 7.)

The fire, which appears to have consumed one garage, is not yet out.

The owner of the property told the Spotlight and police he believes the blaze was started by tools in his garage.

He was using a grinder earlier in the afternoon, he said.

Firefighters cleared spectators and homeowners from the area in a block’s radius of the fire.

Fortis BC was on scene to disconnect electricity.
