Chamber Board looks forward to 2011

The Princeton & District Chamber of Commerce held its Annual General Meeting Thursday, April 28, 2011. “It has been a very good year”, said President Brenda Crawford.

The Chamber board had a busy and productive 2010, either heading up or joining in on community events.  A historic calendar of Princeton was created (becoming a keepsake for many), a Princeton Brochure, Princeton 150 pins and banners, the Susan Allison Ceremony, and the Pioneer Reception keep them busy preparing for the Princeton 150 celebration. Planning for the three day showcase of Princeton and Keremeos for BC Street,  working on the Red Tree project, the Doctor recruitment efforts, Business to Business gatherings and the Christmas light up—just a mere mention of what they have been up to during this past year.

President Crawford extended her thanks to all the directors for their hard work throughout 2010 and said she “is looking forward to the Chamber becoming more front and center within the community.” Crawford also welcomed newcomer to the Chamber, manager of Tee Pee Lakes Resort, Nancy Gibson.

Liaison to the Town of Princeton, Councillor Frank Armitage was then given the chair to direct the election of the Chamber Board.

The Directors of the Board for 2011 are; President - Brenda Crawford, Vice - President, Keith Olsen, Treasurer - Bill Volwles, Directors; Mel Berg, Jerome Tjerkstra, Kathy Wasylenchuk, Nancy Gibson, Les Sirokai, Lisa Carleton and Judy Short. Manager of the Chamber Of Commerce is Lori Thomas.

Councillor Armitage thanked the past directors and Manager Thomas for the outstanding work that had been done in the last year, and welcomed the new Board of Directors, stating, “we appreciate and thank all of you who have offered your services this year—you have Council’s full support.”
